PACT

A Partners And Communities Together (PACT) meeting has been arranged for Monday 28th January 2008 at 6pm in St Michael's school, Newton Road, Twerton.

This is an inter-agency meeting of police, housing associations, the council, residents and your local councillors where they look at how to tackle some of the areas problems. So, is this just another ineffectual committee? Far from it! A PACT panel can only contain people that can actually 'do' something - i.e. find solutions. Members of the public are invited to the meetings and anyone can ask a question.

PC Brendan Keegan's letter to residents...

Dear Resident

You are invited to have your say on the issues that matter most to your community at the second Partnerships and Communities Together (PACT) meeting for Twerton.

Monday 28th January 2008 will mark the inaugural in a planned series of PACT meetings, designed to bring members of the communities together with your Local Beat Team and key representatives of various organisations, to decide on future priorities.

PACT meetings are about giving members of the community a direct say on what they would like their Local Police Neighbourhood Team and partners to focus on and, equally, getting them on board to help achieve results.

The issues could be anything that affects your quality of life, from litter or noise to street lightinh or anti-social behaviour.  At the end of the meeting, an action plan will be put together to tackle the three most pertinent issues and, at a future meeting, the agencies will feed back on what has been done.

If you have any ideas about how your neighbourhood could be improved, then please come along to the meeting and share them.

Panel members at the meeting could include elected councillors, representatives from BANES Council, Education, Housing and Business along with the Twerton Neigjbourhood Police Team.

The PACT meeting will take place at the St. Michael's CofE Junior School, Newton Road, Twerton on Monday 28th January 2008 from 6.00pm until 7.30pm.

Yours Sincerely

PC 2129 Brendan Keegan.
