After a preliminary inspection of the building since the buildings were cleared in February, Network Rail have identified a number of safety issues that they will need to address before they can permit third party entry.

The building will need to be stripped back to shell internally and all new services together with plasterwork, doors, taircase and sanitary facilities will need to be provided and disabled
access issues addressed. There is additionally a possibility of combining this property into some arches at the rear.

Network Rail sau, "there is no quick fix here, and it will need to be progressed through the Network Rail investment process, this may take several months."

Twerton Station opened on the 6th December 1840 and closed in 1917. An overhaul and renovation of the building is long overdue as Network Rail have failed to let the building since May 2006. Locals have been lobbying Network Rail to clean up the station and surrounding land as the station is one of the gateways into the village.

Debris and litter at the rear of the building.
