Healthy Living Week takes place from 22nd to 29th May 2008.
Thursday 22 May
Herbal woodland walk at Carr's Woodland 7pm all welcome, meet at Walwyn Close Sue Hawkey, herbalist, will lead a walk through Carrs Woodland – find out about herbal properties and uses of everyday plants Please wear good footwear and be advised that there are some steps and un-surfaced paths.
Music and Movement at Twerton Village Hall 2pm – 3.30pm, for older people and those with limited mobility, free Enjoy the benefit of gentle stretching and movement to music in a fun and social environment. Wear suitable footwear and comfortable clothing and bring a bottle of water.
Sequence tea dance at St Barnabas Church Hall 2pm – 4pm, all welcome, costs £1.50 including tea and biscuits
Friday 23 May
Streetsafe Self Defence session at Bath City Football Club 11am - 1pm, Randalls' Bar, all welcome, free 1pm – 2pm free lunch for participants Run by Bernice Dawes, experienced self-defence instructor Will include some physical moves in the first half of the session.
Get Striding with Walking The Way to Health 12noon, meeting at Bath City Farm 11.45 am, all welcome Walk will last approximately 30 - 45 minutes. Wear suitable footwear, comfortable clothing and sun protection and bring refreshments
Open afternoon at Twerton Infants School 1.30pm – 3pm, all welcome, free refreshments Meet staff and children at new community building and view food growing projects and cookery programmes
Aerobics at Southdown Methodist Church 2pm – 3pm, all adults welcome, free Adults' aerobics session offering low to moderate exercise for those who haven't taken up exercise for some time
Saturday 24 May
Aerobics at Southdown Methodist Church 2pm – 3pm, all children welcome, free Children's aerobics session offering medium to high impact exercising with a great deal of fun
Sunday 25 May
Two Tunnels Route Bike Ride / Walk 10am start, meet at Royal Oak Pub on the Lower Bristol Road, all welcome Opportunity
to walk or cycle route of proposed Sustrans Two Tunnels Greenway Path,
along route of historic Somerset and Dorset Railway Lunch at Hope and Anchor Pub in Midford around 1pm Return bus service from Midford to Bath, for walkers
Monday 26 May
Goldies at Blagdon Park Community Centre 10.30am – 11.30am, all over 60s welcome, no need to book, free Sing along (and dance too!) to music from the 60s and 70s Wheelchair access, transport available
Aerobics at Southdown Methodist Church 2pm – 3pm, all over 50s welcome, free Over 50s session offering low impact exercises on chairs to help improve mobility
Sequence tea dance at St Barnabas Church Hall 2pm – 4pm, all welcome, costs £1.50 including tea and biscuits
Tuesday 27 May
Tea Dance for Older People at Bath City Football Club 2pm – 4pm, all older people welcome, free, including refreshments Enjoy learning or refreshing your steps on the dance floor with traditional ballroom dances Tea and cake provided and served by the young people of Bath Foyer Transport may be available on request
Roots and Shoots Family Day at Bath City Farm 10am -12noon, for the under 8s and parents/carers Help feed the animals and do some gardening
