A proposal by Somer Housing to develop more than thirty homes on a green-field site has raised huge local objections. Over 750 people have formally objected to the proposal. Could this be the biggest single number of objections the council has ever received?
The site, by the Hollow is just below Bath City Farm and above Cotswold View. Protesters say the development further erodes the already scarce green space in the area. They also have concerns that road access to the development will create a dangerous junction on the Hollow, and that inadequate drainage will lead to a risk of flooding in Cotswold View and the Brow.
Campaigners have created an on-line petition against the development, which will remain open until April 3rd. You can sign it by following this link: www.ourcampaign.org.uk/protectourhillside
There is also a pro-forma objection letter, which can be downloaded from local councillor Tim Ball's blog.
